About Us

Our Beginning
Coffee Boats was founded in 2025 by a group of passionate alumni from Wah Yan College Kowloon and fellow Catholics. As a Benefit Corporation (B Corp) focused coffee brand, we are committed to creating a positive social impact.

Our core business is roasting and selling coffee. We pledge to donate 20% of all sales, without deducting any costs, directly to Caritas Hong Kong. This is used to empower local communities, especially women from grassroots families, youth, and people with disabilities, helping them improve their lives and find new hope through professional training.

In our sourcing, we adhere to a "direct trade" model, working directly with coffee estates operated by Catholic parishes, religious orders, priests, and NGOs worldwide. This ensures transparent origins and directly supports the sustainable development of local communities. This is more than just a business; it's our firm commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

Coffee BOATS

Coffee based on a true story.

We don’t just roast coffee.
We hope to bring these stories—
from lands once scarred by war and burdened with illicit crops,
into the cup of coffee in your hand.

This journey tells of the land,
transforming from wounds to vitality;
and of people,
who found the strength to reshape their destiny.

We support direct trade, respecting both farmers and nature,
because we believe every dollar should be spent with purpose.
With each purchase, you are not simply consuming,
but offering real support—
a promise that can change lives in communities.

Coffee BOATS is more than a brand.
It is a vessel connecting regions, farmers, women, and youth—
and it connects with you, too.

When you pause in your busy day
to savor a cup of our coffee,
you taste our care, hope, and journey.
Let us set sail together,
to create beautiful stories of life.

We believe business is not only about profit, but about writing new chapters for the world.

We honor both people and the land, holding fast to our commitment of "Business for Good," and walking alongside partners who share this belief.

In Nariño’s Villa Loyola, Colombia, Jesuit priest Padre Joe unites science and faith, guiding farmers in sustainable practices to restore land once scarred, proving that both people and earth can flourish together. In Ethiopia’s Bale highlands, the uniqueBean project—supported by Caritas Switzerland—equips farmers with training, traceability, and direct trade networks, empowering them to bring their coffee to international markets. And in Thailand’s Karen villages, the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel established a processing center, turning hillsides into thriving Arabica farms and creating new livelihoods for families.

We support Direct Trade, reduce carbon footprints, and ensure full transparency of origin. We purchase coffee directly from these partners, paying an average of 80% above Fair Trade prices, ensuring farmers receive fair and sustainable income.

With every bag of coffee, 20% of sales go directly to Caritas Hong Kong—bringing this power of change home to our communities, where new stories of hope are most needed.

The journey of coffee is never a series of isolated points.

It begins in the fields, where farmers dedicate their sweat and effort to raising the quality of each bean.
It continues at home, where local women—trained and empowered—roast green beans with care, not only crafting unique flavors but also sustaining families and lighting hope within their communities.
And it grows in our neighborhoods, where young people share coffee with others, building connections, discovering new possibilities, and passing these stories to the next generation.

This connection crosses borders. In the Karen villages of Northern Thailand—where generations have faced displacement and exclusion from mainstream society, with many young people unable to attend national schools—coffee has opened new doors. With the support of the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, young people like Lojia Pholawat found a new path. Through Life Coffee, he trained as a coffee professional and discovered his passion. When our Hong Kong Coffee Boats team visited, he spoke with confidence, using the language of coffee to share his craft. The light in his eyes was proof of how coffee can transform lives.

Because of coffee, we are closely connected.

And when you pause in the midst of your busy day to savor a cup, you too become part of this story.
Coffee is more than a drink—it weaves together real stories, full of life and humanity, connecting hearts across the world.

Sometimes, even scarred land can grow hope.

Yet we believe that scars are not the end, but the beginning of transformation.

In Nariño, Colombia, the shadows of conflict have given way to the flourishing of sustainable farming. In Ethiopia’s Bale highlands, resilience has taken root after years of civil war, carrying hope across generations.

This is the power of coffee: it turns barren soil into fertile ground, fear into dignity, and creates sustainable livelihoods that change lives and carry hope forward. It transforms fate into possibility.

This power extends to our home as well. We believe every cup of coffee can bring real change. Through coffee, local women and youth receive training and support—unlocking their potential, gaining skills to improve their lives, and bringing light and hope to their communities.

These coffees have transformed the lives of farmers across the world, and with your support, hope also takes root in our local neighborhoods.

Every sip is a true witness of transformation.
